Huawei has announced its plans to build Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Open Lab for global operators and partners, helping to ensure that NFV solutions and carrier grade infrastructure are compatible with emerging NFV standards and with the Open Platform NFV source (OPNFV).

The Chinese telecom vendor said that the NFV Open Lab will focus on the integration of telecom NFV/SDN and cloud technologies, testing, technical showcases and certifications for the emerging NFV industry.  Huawei said that the NFV Open Labs comprises three labs, located in China, Germany and the USA. As an initial platinum member of the OPNFV and a member of ETSI NFV ISG, Huawei believes the successful operation of OPNFV technology will develop its market and commercialization, thereby establishing the NFV solution industry chain based on open standards and open source software solutions.
