The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has announced the availability of ad-based free Wi-Fi service at Union, King, Queen and Dundas subway stations by partnering with BAI Canada. The free WiFi service - TCONNECT - has already been installed at St George, Bay, Bloor-Yonge, Wellesley, and College stations.

BAI Canada is a newly established subsidiary of BAI specifically created to build, own and operate the cellular and Wi-Fi networks being deployed within the TTC. BAI is a communications infrastructure group with operations spanning North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, specializing in complex telecommunications solutions.

The service also includes real-time transit alerts, social media and email. The TTC and BAI Canada are planning to expand wireless connectivity to all subway stations in the next three years. In addition, the new infrastructure will be 'cellular-capable', ready for cellular service providers to join the network.
