Vivo announced a collaboration with Microsoft to adopt the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service.

This integration is part of the strategic collaboration between Telefónica and Microsoft for the development of joint initiatives in Innovation and Digital Transformation in areas such as games, connectivity, communication and artificial intelligence.

With the agreement, Vivo will work with Microsoft to develop and implement technology use cases in several areas. The relationship also provides for the creation of an artificial intelligence laboratory that aims to promote the topic internally at Vivo through various initiatives.

Vivo's long and successful trajectory in the world of artificial intelligence helps the company move towards generative AI, using the Azure OpenAI Service. Until then, AI was able to bring answers to solve specific and previously defined problems. This new generation of artificial intelligence can generate original content in different formats (answers, texts, images), making its use gain new scale and applications.

Vivo's objective in adopting the Azure OpenAI Service is to generate a positive impact on its customers' experience and increase the company's operational efficiency. For this, the company plans to use this technology in different areas, such as customer service, new business development and internal processes, among others.

One of the first use cases under development will be using the Azure OpenAI Service to create call center technology that helps agents better and more quickly understand customer queries or queries. With this, the expectation is to have greater consumer satisfaction, increase agility and efficiency and reduce service errors. Other use cases will be implemented, including the adoption of the Azure OpenAI Service to support sellers in preparing commercial proposals for corporate clients, helping them to make the sales process more assertive.

Vivo also aims to foster the creation of internal knowledge about the new generation of AI, accelerating the adoption and training of its team. For this, three action pillars were established: AI Lab, whose objective is to accelerate the implementation of use cases; AI Business School, to train and qualify the company's top executives in topics related to artificial intelligence; and AI Factory, to ensure the successful implementation of use cases across the enterprise through software development partners. A team of 50 people is expected to play a direct role in this new company initiative, impacting all employees and customers.

Ricardo Hobbs, Vice President of Strategy and New Business at Vivo
Working with Microsoft is an evolution of what we started building in 2018 when we launched Aura, our artificial intelligence platform. Now we take another step on this journey, announcing the use of this new AI, associated with a strategic differential that is our Big Data, and which brings a universe of new opportunities in interaction with customers and efficiency gains in internal processes.

Danni Mnitentag, Vice President of Partners and Microsoft Brazil channels
We are pleased to support Vivo's Cloud, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence adoption journey, which will benefit from the use of Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service and low and no code solutions. With the use of these technologies, Vivo will expand its ability to offer digital solutions in its internal processes, in the development of products and services for its customers and partners, resulting in increased customer satisfaction.
