Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative 4G wireless and telecom solutions, last week announced that pan-Africa telecoms operator, Gondwana International Networks (GIN) that operates under the iWayAfrica brand has selected Telrad's turnkey solution for the deployment of Telrad’s Dual Mode solutions to evolve their network from fixed WiMAX to TD-LTE.
The contract will see iWayAfrica bringing enhanced connectivity to their growing base of business subscribers in Nairobi. iWayAfrica has been offering a variety of broadband services (VPN and Internet) on its WiMAX network to a primarily corporate customer base, including small, medium and large businesses.
According to Telrad, its BreezeCOMPACT 1000 base stations, combined with dual mode CPEs, will help set a path for iWayAfrica to smoothly evolve their network from fixed WiMAX to TD-LTE, with Telrad’s unique software defined radio (SDR) enabling a seamless, software-only migration.
