Nexmo this week announced a strategic partnership with BICS (Belgacom International Carrier Services), a global provider of international connectivity and inter-operability services to provide Nexmo's enterprises and app developer customers with enhanced and upgraded mobile voice quality, connectivity and termination of voice services in North America, Europe and EMEA. BICS now provides Nexmo, and its customers, premium voice termination services across its high quality direct connections to end operators worldwide. Nexmo utilizes this service to reach those end operators using its cloud-based voice platform to provide innovative mobile text-messaging and voice experiences.
Nexmo, a provider of innovative communication APIs that bridge traditional voice and text services with cloud communications, said that the agreement enables Nexmo to have more ways to ensure it's only one connection, or “one hop,” away from terminating calls directly to the end users, and delivering its customers the best voice quality calls possible. The company's comprehensive set of REST Cloud APIs enables companies to replace rigid and costly interfaces to telecom infrastructure with a new generation of cloud communication that is delivered as a service.
