Alcatel-Lucent has signed a four-year agreement with True Corporation Thailand, the country’s leading 3G provider and sole provider of 4G LTE services, as well as being the country’s largest Internet and cable service provider to provide IP transport network gears for its 100G network upgrade to meet the surge in data demands. Alcatel-Lucent will supply True a wide range of IP network routers including, 7705 Service Aggregation Router (SAR), 7210 Service Access Switch (SAS), 7450 Ethernet Service Switch (ESS), 7750 Service Router (SR),  5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM).

According to Alcatel-Lucent, the upgraded network will converge True’s mobile, cable and Internet backhaul over a common network and provide ultra-broadband speeds of up to 100G across True’s businesses. The company's simplified architecture will provide scalability, a single management system as well as one with reduced power and space requirements for True, said Alcatel-Lucent.
