  • Algeria Telecom has chosen Ericsson's SSR 8000 family of IP Core portfolio for the transformation of their broadband aggregation network, consolidating the existing network functions for a simple and scalable architecture for Provider Edge (PE) and Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) applications.

According to Ericsson, the SSR 8000 platform will enable Algeria Telecom to competitively meet the growing demand for residential broadband connectivity and offer secure, high-speed virtual private network (VPN) services for its enterprise customers. The new modernized network will also provide Algeria Telecom the capability to offer added-value triple play services with IPTV and video on demand for a feature-rich end-user experience.

Mohamed Sebaa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Algeria Telecom
This new infrastructure based on Ericsson will provide the reliability, scalability, performance and flexibility for enabling us to offer more and better choices to both residential and enterprise customers.

Anders Lindblad, Head of Business Unit Cloud and IP at Ericsson
This agreement is a result of the solid relationship that we have built up with Algeria Telecom over the years and a proof point of Ericsson's competitive strength and ability to deliver converged IP networks for fixed broadband with the Ericsson SSR 8000.
