Grameenphone, the largest mobile operator in Bangladesh, announces that the company has become the first ever mobile telecommunications operator to cross the 5 koti (50 million) subscriber milestone in Bangladesh. In conjunction with this, the service provider organized a celebration at a hotel and presented tokens of appreciation to its 1st and the 5koti customer.
As part of the celebrations offer, Grameenphone announced that its 3G subscribers will enjoy double internet speeds on their mobile devices with their existing internet packages at no additional costs. Furthermore, customers will enjoy a special limited time offer of 5 paisa per 10 second pulse within the GP network.
Through the company’s customer-centric initiative, Grameenphone had recently introduced its “Customer First” program which includes the introduction of a mobile application for employees that empowers them to better serve as the organization’s brand ambassadors.
At the same time, the company has started various initiatives to drive mobile Internet adoption among its users in line with its “Internet for all” ambition which strives to bring internet connectivity to 50 million users via its network in the next 5 years.
Today we celebrate our customers with this milestone. When we started this journey we pledged to provide uncompromising service to our customers. I am happy to say that we have not wavered and still strive towards ensuring the best services for our customers; our customers remain our utmost priority. Without the whole hearted support from all our customers, partners, regulators and other stakeholders, we could not have come this far.
