Cisco, Monday announced that the company has added more than 30 companies to its Intercloud ecosystem, establishing partnership with major telecom service and data center providers, including Deutsche Telekom, BT, NTT DATA, PT Portugal/Oi and Equinix, to deliver the next generation cloud services.
The cloud providers will embrace Cisco ACI and Intercloud Fabric, a highly secure, open, and flexible hypervisor-agnostic cloud interconnect technology. The Openstack-based worldwide network of interconnected clouds will see Cisco expanding the reach of the Intercloud by 250 additional data centers in 50 countries.
Cisco is recruiting and enabling partners across the Intercloud ecosystem—from cloud providers, cloud builders and cloud aggregators, to technology partners, independent software vendors (ISV) and cloud resellers.
Cisco said that rapid growth of the hybrid cloud model was the impetus for the latest Intercloud effort, as more and more companies are building services that rely on multiple private and public clouds.
