  • Huawei Active Antenna Unit (AAU) solution has been choosen for commercial deployment by Vodafone Egypt to build its mobile broadband (MBB) network.

  • Huawei said that its AAU solution is developed with the purpose of integrating antenna and the radio module and the integrated solution helps to reduce base station site space by up to 75% in comparison to traditional site solutions. AAU solutions support both high and low frequency bands. At the same time, the Huawei AAU protects operators’ CAPEX by supporting future LTE evolution with no additional antenna deployment needed, added Huawei.

“Huawei AAU solution fits our demands. This solution will make our site resource more efficient and reduce the site complexity which will put Vodafone Egypt ahead of other carriers in Egypt. To date, the Huawei AAU solution has been trialed and commercially deployed by 37 operators in China, Canada, Russia, as well as other countries in Europe and South America."
