Swisscom New TV 2.0 Multiscreen Service Security Enhanced with Verimatrix's Video Content Authority System

Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, last week announced that Swisscom, the leader of the Swiss digital TV market, has selected its Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) to provide enhanced revenue security for its new Swisscom TV 2.0 service offering. Swisscom's TV 2.0 offers integrated live and seven-day replay services for more than 250 channels via an advanced Android-powered set-top box (STB).

VCAS content protection system for IPTV that is integrated into Swisscom's TV 2.0 Android IPTV STB enables secure video delivery  of live and catch-up video services across a broad range of networks and device types.

Swisscom's Android-powered STB also features Marvell's ARMADA® 1500 Plus (88DE3108) system-on-chip (SoC) platform with a Full HD video engine, dedicated security processor, and AVASTAR® 88W8897 WiFi, offering a new recording function with storage capacity of up to 1,000 hours

"Swisscom is committed to providing our subscribers with convenient access to services they crave, on the device of their choice, any time. We chose to upgrade our revenue security solution to VCAS because its capabilities clearly align with this commitment. Deploying VCAS for IPTV provides us with the flexibility we need to satisfy future customer demand beyond our managed network, while also seamlessly protecting our existing network configuration."

-        Volker Dietzel, Head of TV Development & Technology, Swisscom

"We are delighted to have collaborated with Swisscom on the deployment of their Swisscom TV 2.0 service. Having been successfully deployed by more than 750 operators, VCAS is well-suited to protect even the largest, most popular service offerings. In addition, VCAS is both flexible and scalable, enabling Swisscom to easily expand their security coverage beyond the managed network to mobile devices of all kinds."
