nTelos Wireless Picks Alcatel-Lucent for LTE Rollout

nTelos has selected Alcatel-Lucent for its 4G LTE network build-out in two East Coast states - West Virginia and parts of western Virginia, serving an additional 2.1 million people. The contract which is the third expansion provided by Alcatel-Lucent since nTelos Wireless launched its LTE network in 2013,supports Sprint’s 1900MHz, 800MHz and 2.5G spectrum.

  • According to Alcatel-Lucent, nTelos Wireless will be using its 4G LTE network gears including multi-technology Radio Access Network, Mobile Backhaul, and elements within its Evolved Packet Core (EPC). Alcatel-Lucent also will expand nTelos’ existing backhaul with its 7705 Service Aggregation Router and the EPC with the 9471 Wireless Mobility Manager.
