Tango Telecom's product strategist talks to RCR Wireless News at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona held from 25-28 February 2013, showcasing the Local Breakout solution (LBO) -SmartPhone APP for Subscriber Self-care while roaming. The solution, which is based on its Policy Control platform ensures that operators will be able to attract and retain valuable roamers to their networks by offering international data roaming at local data access rates.

"Tango Telecom’s Local Breakout Solution (iAX™ LBO) ensures that operators will be able to attract and retain valuable roamers to their networks by offering international data roaming at local data access rates. The solution is part of its market leading Policy Control suite and provides a complete solution on a single platform. Tango Telecom's Local Breakout Solution(iAX™ LBO) requires minimal changes to the existing network ensuring low implementation costs and very rapid deployment timeframes."

Nigel Portley, Product Strategist, Tango Telecom, explains: "We know that currently over 75% of roamers do not use data – we call it ’The Missing Data Roamer  Opportunity’. We also know that if these roamers were enticed to switch on data services by user friendly value for money access, then mobile operators would unleash a huge revenue potential. We believe the impending EU regulation is an opportunity: an opportunity to keep current outbound roamers, to attract roamers from competitors and to switch on the missing data roamer. Our advice to operators is not to wait until 2014, to seize the advantage now by being first to market with innovative solutions such as Local Breakout and ARP gateway.”
