NOVA, Iceland's leading mobile operator has selected Huawei LampSite solution to be deployed at the Korinn stadium, Kopavogur, powering the 'world's first' such commercial deployment for an indoor stadium. The deployment came at the right time, providing seamless mobile broadband experience for the audiences of Justin Timberlake's first concert in Iceland which is part of the American singer-songsongwriter's world tour, taking place on Sunday, August 24.
The event which attracted a house full crowd of 18,000 people, which is 5% of Iceland's total population, saw a surge in data traffic of 15 times more than that accumulated at Reykjavik biggest shopping mall at a busy hour.
According to Huawei, its LampSite, an innovative indoor MBB solution that addresses indoor network coverage and capacity problems has been commercially deployed in many countries globally including Norway, the UK, Spain, Thailand and China.
Huawei says that its LampSite solution supports multi-band, multi-mode, carrier aggregation (CA), MIMO technologies, and can provide higher spectrum efficiency and a seamless user experience both indoors and outdoors.
"I’m very satisfied with our cooperation with Huawei. Huawei’s innovative LampSite indoor coverage solution is really impressive with fast deployment to provide end users with stable and superior mobile broadband experiences."
