This week at VMworld® 2014, VMware unveiled vCloud Air Mobile, a new hybrid cloud platform that supports existing and new applications with extended capabilities to support mobile-cloud applications.
- Vmware also unveiled a new VMware vCloud Air Virtual Private Cloud OnDemand to provide customers with on demand access to vCloud Air where customers access the cloud instantly with the swipe of a credit card. VMware said that billing for the services will be provided in arrears. Initially offered as a qualified beta, customers can now apply for a vCloud Air Virtual Private Cloud OnDemand via its website.
According to VMware, a year after it introduces VMware vCloud Air, its hybrid cloud platform has rapidly expanded its global footprint to provide US, European and Asia-Pacific businesses of all sizes with the fastest path to cloud. The company with existing eight data centers in the US, UK and Japan, has recently announced its hybrid cloud expansion to Japan via a joint venture with SoftBank. VMware also has announced a strategic partnership with China Telecom to build a world-class hybrid cloud service in Beijing.
