Vodafone Germany and Deloitte are working together to accelerate digitization in the healthcare sector.

The two companies announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop networked medical services and products in the Internet of Things and make them available to even more people - in cities and in rural areas.

The goals of the alliance: Bring more digital applications into everyday life for as many patients as possible. And provide new services that support doctors and healthcare professionals in their work in hospitals and medical facilities. From now on, digital, technology and health experts from both companies will work together in the 'Center for Health'.

Vodafone Germany said it has already networking more than 20 million devices, machines and services from the health sector in the Internet of Things . Deloitte has 24,000 qualified life sciences and healthcare professionals worldwide. In recent years, the experts have introduced numerous modern health solutions, including drones that deliver medicines to patients and telemedicine applications for transmitting vital data. And the need for such digital services is growing: In the next ten years, around a third of outpatient visits and half of general pracitioner visits will take place virtually.

Vodafone Germany CEO Hannes Ametsreiter
We should use this wake-up call and draw the right knowledge from it. 5G and the Internet of Things can also improve medical care in rural areas. In the 'Center for Health' we want to develop solutions that help doctors and patients immediately.

Deloitte Germany CEO Volker Krug
Modern technologies are playing an increasingly important role in making healthcare better and more accessible. Digital and networked health solutions enable new and more effective ways of diagnosing, treating and caring for patients.
