NTT DATA UK and leading Irish telecommunications provider eir, this week announced an extension of their ongoing 13-year partnership. Over the years, NTT DATA UK has provided a variety of services for the telco giant and led numerous digital transformation projects. Most recently, eir awarded NTT DATA UK the Managed Services contract of its IT operations to streamline and improve eir’s existing legacy applications and infrastructure.

With the new Managed Services agreement, NTT DATA UK will safeguard and drive eir’s business-critical IT systems during its digital transformation and migration process, as well as supporting eir’s objectives of retiring legacy applications and infrastructure as it moves towards open-source technology.

To deliver the services of the new agreement, NTT DATA UK has teams based in Ireland, India and other worldwide locations working to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 application, infrastructure, cyber security (including vulnerability and threat detection) and help desk services across the telco’s systems. This enables NTT DATA to maintain eir’s business continuity during its IT transformation journey.

NTT DATA UK will not only assist eir with improving efficiency across the IT department, but it will also play a crucial role in enabling eir to provide the highest standards of experience to its customers.

Brian Chapman, CIO at eir Ireland
The team – whose expertise has been invaluable to us – has integrated with our internal processes and employees incredibly smoothly. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership and implementing new solutions that will help our business to grow as well as enable us to provide the best experience for our customers.

Shane O’Toole, Client Partner for eir at NTT DATA UK
We’re very proud of the level of collaboration we’ve reached with eir. Our partnership has grown over more than a decade, so we’re now not only looking after the IT applications and infrastructure, but are also providing cyber security,  help desks and wider services.
