NTT, a world-leading global technology services provider, last week announced that it has successfully helped MyRepublic, one of the fastest growing telecom operators in  the Asia-Pacific region based in Indonesia to expand its network capacity to cope with the surge in demand during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With more subscribers relying on internet connectivity for home working, education and entertainment, MyRepublic was experiencing a sudden increase in subscribers’ data usage, resulting in a huge strain on its network infrastructure. To cope with twice its usual traffic, there was a need to upgrade its existing infrastructure to one that is more agile and scalable. MyRepublic needed a solution to be implemented quickly with minimal to no impact on its subscriber traffic. NTT was tasked to deliver future-proof solutions to address this challenge, while meeting MyRepublic’s tight project completion timeline.

With its strong global partnerships with leading technology vendors, NTT deployed Cisco Aggregation Service Routers (ASR), Network Convergence System (NCS), and Catalyst to provide MyRepublic with 100Gbps ready capacity. F5’s Application Delivery Controllers (ADC) scale reference architecture was also used to provide an intelligent system with deep packet inspection capability, responding and scaling up subscribers’ traffic to ensure MyRepublic provided uninterrupted internet anytime, anywhere.

In just four months, the project achieved full-scale implementation. In addition to increasing bandwidth for its end customers, MyRepublic can now automatically provision devices for its staff across the network using software images and configuration files, which is a big help during lockdowns where staff is unable to visit offices to upgrade and patch their PCs.

Hendra Lesmana, CEO, NTT Indonesia Solutions
At NTT, we pride ourselves on having comprehensive managed IT services, which allowed MyRepublic to focus on their business performance and ever-changing business demands with minimal interruptions.

Andrijanto Muljono, CEO of MyRepublic in Indonesia
We have a strong, long-standing relationship with NTT and they were able to not only meet our high expectation in terms of fast project completion, but also provide differentiable services through their cross-technology expertise to future-proof our network infrastructure.
