Procera Debuts New Real-Time RAN QoE Analytics Solution

Procera Networks, the global Subscriber Experience company, debuts RAN Perspectives, a new real-time location and RAN QoE awareness solution for subscriber experience management for mobile broadband operators. The new software based solution that integrates into Procera's network analytics platform will be commercially available in the first quarter of 2015.

Procera said that the RAN Perspectives adds valuable RAN awareness to mobile operators' network intelligence, dramatically reducing their deployment of probes and the costs associated with drive testing while expanding their visibility into the RAN in real-time to gain insight and take action.

RAN Perspective empowers various teams within the service providers' organization in managing their customer experience, including subscriber diagnostics by customer care team; analytics for quality, congestion, applications, out-of-coverage hotspots, RAN congestion management by engineering teams and location-based service plan offerings by marketing teams.

RAN Perspectives was developed to solve one of the biggest challenges for mobile operators, providing real-time location and quality information in a cost-effective manner that they can use to deliver higher quality mobile broadband services. RAN Perspectives is the first Procera product designed specifically for mobile Subscriber quality of experience, and integrates tightly into our existing PacketLogic solutions, including our Customer Care Insights offering that can now deliver real-time forensics on the RAN connection as well as on the data connection for mobile devices.”

-     Alexander Haväng, CTO, Procera Networks

The proliferation of mobile devices coupled with the expanding use of data-intensive applications such as mobile video has led to increasing congestion in the RAN that can dramatically reduce subscriber QoE. A device-based solution such as RAN Perspectives has the potential to more effectively manage congestion while enabling a broad array of additional services, solutions and applications, which could have dramatic implications for mobile networks.”
