Slovak Telekom this week announced its plans to start using Orange Slovakia's fiber infrastructure from April this year.

Slovak Telekom will gain access to part of Orange's optical network and will start providing its portfolio of services on it, i.e fixed network services such as broadband internet, digital television Magio TV or Smart Package and Magenta.

The installation of the services will be carried out by Slovak Telekom's technicians. Slovak Telekom said it will continue to build its own optical network intensively. Last year, it again covered more than 100,000 households and  exceeded the milestone of 750,000 households covered by its own fiber optics .

Access to part of Orange's network will enable the provisioning of services in places where Sloval Telekom's fiber optics do not yet exist. At the same time, Slovak Telekom can focus on further covering cities and municipalities in new regions, where customers do not yet have faster internet available.
