Enea, MATRIXX Partner to Offer Cloud-native Policy and Charging Solution for 4G/5G Networks

Enea, MATRIXX Partner to Offer Cloud-native Policy and Charging Solution for 4G/5G Networks

Enea on Wednesday announced that it has partnered with MATRIXX Software, provider of next-generation, real-time converged rating and charging for 5G.

The combination of Enea’s Policy Manager and MATRIXX Software’s 5G Converged Charging System gives operators a turnkey, cloud-native policy and charging solution for 4G and 5G networks which can be deployed on public, private and hybrid clouds.

As operators deploy 5G, they require complementary and fully interoperable policy and charging capabilities that accurately monitor and monetize diverse services, including new use cases. The combined solution from Enea and MATRIXX is fully microservices-based, making container orchestration seamless on cloud-based architecture for operators to quickly introduce new services and be able to monetize them rapidly.

The 5G data management solutions provided by Enea unify subscriber and session data across network functions, and the company’s policy and access control products enable efficient utilization of network resources and authentication of subscribers. The portfolio includes the Enea Stratum Cloud Data Manager, the Enea Unified Data Manager, the Enea Policy Manager, and the Enea Access Manager. Enea’s open and cloud-native products are used by network operators worldwide, including eight out of the ten largest mobile operator groups in the world.

Marc Price, CTO of MATRIXX Software
Enea’s microservices-based, API-first design complements MATRIXX’s solution to provide a competitive edge for operators supporting new revenue models, including edge-based applications and services delivered with network slicing.

Roland Steiner, Senior Vice President, Telecom Business Unit at Enea
Just as importantly, we both recognize that operators cannot afford for 4G and 5G networks to operate in silos, which is why our Policy Manager encompasses the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) for 4G and Policy Control Function (PCF) for 5G.
