SwiftServe, the content delivery specialist, announced that PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin) is now offering content delivery network (CDN) services, based on the CDN they built using SwiftServe technology. Telin is also generating revenue by delivering content on behalf of the SwiftServe CDN Federation, throught the partnership.
"Telin's has deployed SwiftServe appliances at a number of PoPs (points of presence) in Indonesia, which are live and generating revenue. Recently for example, their SwifServe-based network was used successfully to deliver live-streaming of popular European Champions League football games to tens of thousands of concurrent viewers in Indonesia."
"Building a CDN with the largest coverage in Indonesia has been a cornerstone of our strategy this year," explains Syarif Syarial Ahmad, President Director Telin. "Our new SwiftServe-based CDN enables us to provide best quality of experience for customers who access content using the Telkom Group infrastructure, thereby reinforcing our position in the market. At the same time, we have an excellent opportunity to generate new, incremental revenue by monetizing content delivered over our network, while reducing our international transit costs as content will be delivered primarily from our network."
"We are delighted to welcome Telin to the SwiftServe CDN Federation. Like the other existing partners in the federation, Telin is a leading and trusted operator who is keen to leverage its expertise in telecoms to help create and benefit from the largest CDN in South-East Asia", concludes Cheong Kong Wai, CEO for Conversant and SwiftServe.
