Telekom Austria Joins iBasis LTE Signaling eXchange (LSX) for 4G Roaming

Telekom Austria Group, Austria's leading provider of telecommunication services offering voice, data, IP services and mobile solutions has joined iBasis LTE Signaling eXchange (LSX) that connects to over 100 LTE networks worldwide. The LTE roaming peering works on the existing GRX peering agreement between the two parties and uses the IPX network.

The iBasis LTE Signaling eXchange (LSX) provides a fast and secure method for operators to connect and realize revenues from LTE roaming, allowing Mobile Network Operators (MNO)s to connect to hundreds of other operators through a single interconnect and assure LTE Roaming interoperability across multiple vendors.

We are eager to accelerate the global adoption of LTE roaming, which benefits the entire mobile communications community from subscribers to operators to solution providers and application developers. Peering with qualified partners that share that vision, like Telekom Austria Group, enables us to expand our global LTE Roaming footprint and offer additional destinations quickly and efficiently.”

 Willem Offerhaus, CEO, iBasis

Mobile customers are increasingly expecting high quality access to their services whether they are at home or travelling. Through partnerships with proven providers we are expanding our reach and making the global LTE Roaming experience a reality. Telekom Austria Group reports a customer base of approximately 23 million retail customers who will benefit enormously from these enhanced services.”
