Sandvine Virtual Series Enables CSPs with NFV Use Cases

Sandvine, a leading provider of intelligent broadband and network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, yesterday announced that the Sandvine Virtual Series, the fully virtualized version of the Sandvine platform, is currently being used by multiple leading communications service providers (CSPs) around the globe in order to develop, test and deploy their virtualization strategies.

According to Sandvine, the Virtual Series platform, which is OpenStack compatible enables CSPs to enjoy all the features of the traditional Sandvine platform while benefiting from the elasticity and efficiency of running virtual machines on commercial off-the-shelf hardware (COTS). It also highlighted that the solution provides hassle-free integration with standard SDN and NFV architectures, including Juniper’s Contrail™.

"Many operators are currently determining their virtualization strategy, and we are pleased to provide them with valuable guidance and to be shipping products that will help to turn the promise of virtualization into a successful reality."

-  Don Bowman, CTO, Sandvine

"Sandvine’s NFV and SDN initiatives are a key area of focus and a natural extension of our product capabilities. Our research and development investments over the years have established us as the both the technology and market leader in our field. Those investments are why operators continue to choose Sandvine as they explore the transition to a virtualized environment.”

-  Dave Caputo, CEO, Sandvine
