Telefónica Empresas and SAP España have signed an alliance to help the Spanish business environment accelerate its digital transformation.

The agreement reached by both companies will allow Telefónica to distribute the SAP licenses as part of its offer of cloud solutions, as well as to offer for the first time services associated with the private cloud from its data center in Madrid, while the German multinational will expand its partner ecosystem and increase its penetration capacity in certain environments and market segments.

This joint commitment to promote SAP cloud solutions has been influenced by the fact that both companies share the same strategy to promote open, hybrid platforms that favor the secure deployment of multicloud environments.

Although Telefónica already had its own SAP solutions, it now joins the SAP PartnerEdge program as a service partner to distribute and implement a large set of SAP solutions for its clients e.g. business management (SAP ERP Cloud), HR (SAP Success Factors) and travel expenses (SAP Concur).

In addition, customers of the two companies will be able to use SAP software in its private cloud mode with SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud (SAP HEC) using the infrastructure as a service and not just as a data center. All this will help organizations analyze a huge volume of data in real time and scale their applications to accelerate the arrival of their solutions and products on the market.

Emilio Gayo, President of Telefonica Spain
With SAP we share the strong commitment we make to the cloud environment and the belief that cloud-based solutions can boost the digitization of companies and accelerate their profitability.

Rafael Brugnini, CEO of SAP Spain
The partnership with Telefónica will allow us to make an important quantitative and qualitative leap in our objective of helping Spanish companies to become smart organizations.
