Belgacom Selects ALU's DSC to Deliver 4G LTE Roaming

Belgacom has selected Alcatel-Lucent’s Diameter Control Point to deliver 4G LTE service seamlessly for travelers, allowing its subscribers and foreign visitors to enjoy LTE roaming service. The capability provides Belgacom's roaming customers better mobile internet experience with the higher speed LTE without relying on 3G mobile access while roaming.

Belgacom deployment of Alcatel-Lucent’s Diameter Control Point technology based on its Dynamic Services Controller (DSC) platform which simplifies and provides better control of the exchange of signaling information, eases its foray into international LTE roaming agreements.

Alcatel-Lucent’s Diameter Control Point (DCP) technology enables Belgacom to partner with service providers offering 4G LTE in other countries to make 4G LTE network access available to Belgacom customers traveling abroad. This allows customers to continue to enjoy the speed and quality of experience they are accustomed to at home. Likewise, it makes Belgacom’s 4G LTE network available to the customers of their roaming partners visiting Belgium to generate additional data usage and revenue.

“Belgacom’s deployment of the Diameter Control Point is a strong endorsement of Alcatel-Lucent’s technology. Combined with our professional services it delivers an unparalleled level of flexibility which is exactly what network operators need when faced with the challenge of balancing between the growing expectations of their customers.”

Luc Defieuw, Country Senior Officer, Alcatel-Lucent Belgium
