ipoque, a Rohde & Schwarz company providing market-leading network analytics software, announced that a feature upgrade of their telco analytics solution R&S®INTRA now allows efficient monitoring and traffic analytics of networks adopting 5G non-standalone mode (5G NSA).

The new feature was requested by a mobile network operator (MNO) in order to be able to roll out their 5G adoption strategy, said the Company.

Many mobile network operators roll out their 5G radio networks in NSA mode supporting 5G with existing 4G core infrastructure. Using advanced telco analytics solutions, MNOs can process all the traffic in their network and differentiate between 4G and 5G applications in order to adopt 5G technologies.

With an extended setup, R&S®INTRA now enables MNOs to detect 5G communication reliably and mark mobile sessions pertaining to 5G New Radio (NR) base stations. Using control and user plane communication for both 4G and 5G in the 4G core infrastructure, customers gain valuable insights for the new enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) use cases.

R&S®INTRA provides communication service providers with actionable insights into their networks for marketing, product development, operations and customer support use cases. With the new setup, the same benefits and more apply to 5G NSA networks. During their transition to 5G, visibility into network performance, usage, trends and KPIs are key for MNOs to make informed strategic decisions and drive the adoption of 5G in the most profitable way. Additionally, granular insights into enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) usage boosts the development of new business models based on reliable analytics data.

The telco analytics solution R&S®INTRA will be demonstrated at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the Rohde & Schwarz booth 6B30 in hall 6 from February 24-27.
