Linktel, Accuris Partner to Provide Seamless WiFi Access for Visitors at World Cup in Brazil

Linktel, the Brazilian Wi-Fi carrier, has established a multi-phase partnership with Accuris Networks, a leading provider of carrier grade Wi-Fi Offload and Roaming Inter-Working solutions, to deliver seamless WIFi access for visitors during the world cup in Brazil. The service that works on SIM-based authentication enables visitors an easy connection to Wi-Fi Hotspots without the need to use usernames or passwords. This will be done using Accuris Networks' AccuROAM™offload and roaming platform.

According to Accuris, both the companies will soon be delivering Wi-Fi access to Brazilian mobile phone users traveling abroad. Linktel is also investing heavily in Wi-Fi networks in order to provide the much needed offload solutions with Accuris Networks for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

There is nothing on the market that can beat the AccuROAM technology for inbound mobile users attending the cup in Brazil. The big advantage is that AccuROAM gives users access to fast, modern Wi-Fi networks and Hotspot 2.0 without the need to sign up via websites or enter data. Whenever users are near Wi-Fi networks, their phone behaves as if it were on a normal part of the cellular network, but with better capacity and faster speeds. We look forward to building out this solution in Brazil in the coming months.”

- Jonas Trunk, CEO, Linktel

Accuris Networks makes it easy for carriers to connect their users to Wi-Fi networks using SIM-based authentication, enabling Wi-Fi to work as a full extension of their 3G/4G networks for billing, policy and authentication. AccuROAM is a valuable technology for Latin American carriers and Wi-Fi providers who we are actively working with in countries such as Mexico, Argentina and Chile."

- Larry Quinn, Executive Chaiman, Accuris Networks
