DAS Vendor ADRF Joins O-RAN Alliance to Support An Open 5G Ecosystem

Advanced RF Technologies (ADRF), a leading in-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS) OEM vendor for public safety and commercial radio frequencies, has joined the O-RAN Alliance.

O-RAN Alliance is a worldwide, carrier-led effort to drive new levels of openness and collaboration in the radio access network of next-generation wireless systems. Its objective is to develop architectures and specifications to promote the adoption of open standards and interfaces, embedded intelligence, software-based functions, and white box hardware for radio access networks.

This focus on interoperability will simplify RAN virtualization and ultimately drive network costs down. This aligns perfectly with ADRF’s strategic goals and 5G product roadmap to deliver flexible and robust yet affordable in-building wireless connectivity solutions for enterprises.

Andrew Jun, CTO, ADRF
We look forward to working together with other members to democratize the radio access network and offer enterprises better -- less expensive, less proprietary, more intelligent, more agile -- choices for wireless connectivity.
