Samsung Works with Syniverse for Complementary Wi-Fi Service in Indonesia

Syniverse has established a new relationship with Samsung Electronics Indonesia to co-develop the S Air Wi-Fi application, which will be preloaded on select Samsung devices in Indonesia and published in the Google Play store.

According to a statement, Samsung will offer complimentary Wi-Fi access in Indonesia for 90 days via S Air for users who purchase select Samsung tablets, in celebration of the launch of the new service which begins in August.

Syniverse said that it will provide the connection management, agreement management and interoperability solutions to allow device users to simply and seamlessly access multiple Wi-Fi networks. By simplifying business relationships and streamlining implementation, Syniverse bridges technical gaps between new types of partners to enable Wi-Fi roaming. Once the activity has occurred, Syniverse provides settlement between all types of Wi-Fi ecosystem partners, including mobile network operators, Wi-Fi service providers and aggregators.

"To deliver an optimal Wi-Fi experience with S Air, it was imperative that we aligned the promotion with an experienced, reputable mobile cloud enabler like Syniverse. We’re confident that Syniverse can deliver on the expectation of today’s consumers for always-on connectivity and increased data speeds at their fingertips. By allowing device owners to more easily find and connect to the country’s largest Wi-Fi operators, Samsung and Syniverse are enhancing user experiences. ”

- Andre Rompis, IT & Mobile Business Vice President, Samsung Electroics Indonesia

"For more than 25 years, Syniverse has been bridging the world’s mobile players to deliver seamless end-user experiences, resulting in deepened customer touch points that increase loyalty and revenue for our customers while promoting and protecting their brands. Our new relationship with Samsung is a great example of new ways to deliver on mobile user expectations, and we look forward to what’s ahead. As a trusted intermediary at the center of the mobile ecosystem, Syniverse ensures brands can reliably connect and securely engage their global customer bases with high-quality services. We’re focused on empowering brands to proactively engage consumers by providing precisely the information they want, when they want it and how they want it.”
