Swisscom has announced that its customers can surf the fast 4G/LTE network whilst on the move in a further ten countries, including in Brasil for the World Cup 2014. Nine of those countries are in Europe including holiday destinations such as Italy, Spain and Greece. Swiss football fans in Brazil will not only benefit from quicker mobile connections but also a special offer during the World Cup.
Swisscom is offering special savings for travellers to Brazil in June and July with a one-time fee of CHF 30 for 90 minutes of calls and 90 SMS/MMS during the two months of the World Cup and CHF 12 for 50MB data packages.
Swisscom said that with effective immediately, its customers in Italy and Spain can now also use 4G/LTE, while the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Germany, Great Britain and Romania are scheduled to follow in the weeks to come. Swisscom customers can already benefit from high surfing speeds on trips to France, Austria, Norway, the USA, Canada, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.
Swisscom added that they have to date a grand total of 30 4G/LTE roaming agreements in place.
