Globe Telecom, a leading Operator in the Philippines has selected UK-based telecommunications equipment firm, ip.access, to implement a nationwide femtocell deployment aimed at boosting network connectivity inside homes and small businesses across the Philippines.

This is in line with Globe’s nationwide femtocell deployment program consisting of 3G residential and enterprise 4G/LTE femtocells, targeted to commence in 2019.

The project will deploy 10,000 femtocell units within 2019 to strengthen Globe’s domestic network and enable the company to provide enhanced indoor coverage for residential, enterprise, small/home office (SoHo), and VIP customers.

Globe is planning the 3G residential femtocell deployment program and enterprise 4G/LTE small cells in association with local system integrator OneCommerce, which will be responsible for the integration and installation of these network technologies.

Richard Staveley, CEO, ip.access
This deployment is perfectly suited to ip.access and is another excellent validation of our ability to support mobile network operators in delivering large scale femtocell deployments, which are  needed to meet the ever-increasing demand for indoor coverage and capacity.

Ernest Cu, President and CEO, Globe Telecom
This initiative will greatly improve the indoor service experience of our customers to fully enjoy their digital lifestyle. Our continued investment in our network underscores our commitment to provide our customers with the best quality of experience using the Globe network.
