Comptel Corporation and Nakina Systems have partnered to help communications service providers (CSPs) address the new management challenges arising from software-defined networking (SDN) and network function Virtualization (NFV).
Comptel Fulfillment, which includes catalog, order management, logical inventory, and provisioning and activation capabilities and Nakina’s NFV-ready framework, enable operators to streamline and gain control over the end-to-end orchestration of complex services deployed across virtualized, multi-vendor, multi-implementation networks.
The combined OSS technology means CSPs are in a stronger position to achieve the OPEX/CAPEX benefits and the new levels of service innovation and agility that SDN and NFV promise, said Comptel.
“This partnership will allow our joint CSP customers to take advantage of Comptel’s catalog functionality, to select services and collect appropriate data. The service information is then sent to Nakina’s orchestration engine and NFV framework, to coordinate downstream work processes and activate the services for today’s networks, which are including more and more virtual elements.”
- Mary O'Neil, CEO, Nakina
“SDN and NFV are ushering in a new era for CSPs. It’s critical that OSS harmonize with these technologies, to improve operators’ agility, responsiveness and cost-efficiency. We are excited about the potential of virtualized networks, and believe that we have the right fulfillment technology and a strong collaboration with Nakina to enable CSPs to capitalize on the opportunities they present.”
