ZTE announced that it has signed a 5G agreement with PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), the largest digital telecommunication operator in Indonesia.

The MoU howcases ZTE and Telkom Indonesia’s commitment to building 5G network and exploring new 5G fields in Indonesia.

ZTE and Telkom Indonesia have had a long term partnership in various fields such as fixed access, bearer transmission, core network and other technologies.

The Operator has been ramping up its readiness to deploy its 5G network. As a 'Official Mobile Partner for the Asian Games 2018, Telkomsel, the wireless subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia introduced ‘Telkomsel 5G Experience Center' in Jakarta. This month it selected Ericsson’s NFV infrastructure (NFVI) technology for a major core network upgrade as it moves towards 5G deployment.
