ROK Mobile Launches MVNO LTE Service in US, Selects Devicescape for WiFi Curation

ROK Mobile launches 'Ultimate Unlimited Plan' on nationwide MVNO 4G LTE network, offering its customers data-intensive services over the best possible Wi-Fi or mobile data connections in US. ROK also includes 20 million on-demand audio tracks as part of the service plan.

ROK Mobile has selected Devicescape Service Platform (DSP) to curate and automate amenity Wi-Fi networks into a massive network of virtual carrier Wi-Fi, which comprises more than 20 million high-quality hotspots.

Devicescape’s Service Platform consists of Access, Engagement, and Insight Services that elevate the smartphone experience by magnifying telecom operators’ capacity reach, enabling automatic connection to the best available network. The DSP proactively monitors available connections, and through a patented machine-learning algorithm, makes decisions about which network—mobile or Wi-Fi—would foster the best possible user experience. The company projects its Curated Virtual Network (CVN) will grow to 100 million high-quality hotspots by the end of 2017, making it the largest, fastest growing, and most comprehensive Wi-Fi service platform in the industry.

Our philosophy with launching ROK Mobile was to give the people what they want—the best quality mobile service and music experience possible," said Jonathan Kendrick, ROK Mobile Chairman and CEO. "Not only are we offering an enhanced experience, we’re providing our subscribers with instant access and the best connection to the world’s largest comprehensive virtual Wi-Fi network over which they can enjoy these services."

This announcement is a win for today’s music-loving mobile consumers," said Dave Fraser, CEO of Devicescape. "By allowing their users to consume as much music as they like—and enabling that over the best wireless connection possible—ROK Mobile is debuting a radical new business model."
