China-based T&W announced that the company will expand its existing Small Cell product line by supporting 5G Small Cell solutions powered by the Qualcomm FSM100xx 5G Platform.

By building on its mature product portfolio and existing large-scale LTE deployments at tier one operators, T&W will smoothly embed 5G technology into its existing product line.

As 5G technology is high on the Chinese market agenda, T&W intends to promote 5G technology both in China and out of China to enable a large 5G market which will benefit from 5G deployments on a large scale. By combining the advanced Qualcomm FSM100xx 5G Platform with T&W high layers ubiquitous software, T&W expects to provide best in class 5G Small Cells systems.

T&W 5G Small Cell product will support both sub 6 GHz and mmWave frequencies to cover the different demands by different service providers. The product will support different layer splits to accommodate different front haul/ computational requirements. T&W will leverage its existing LTE solutions to support both LTE and 5G services.
