Columbus Telephone Transforms to All IP Network with GENBAND’s SMART CORE IMS Solution

Columbus Telephone Company, a premier provider of high speed internet, telephony, and High Definition (HD) cable television services to business and residential customers, has deployed key elements of GENBAND’s IP Multimedia Solution, the SMART CORE™ to upgrade its network to all Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure.

Genband said that the CONTiNUUM™ C15 Call Session Controller replaced legacy network components that were nearing end-of-life and losing technical support with state-of-the-art software and hardware technology. The GENBAND solution enables Columbus Telephone Company to offer new IP services, including HD Voice, mobility, video calling, integrated voicemail and emergency 911 (E911).

According to Genband, the C15 Call Session Controller, part of GENBAND’s CONTiNUUM portfolio is widely-deployed in the cores of hundreds of operator networks, helping them to reduce risks by providing a solid bridge to revenue growth and new IP services.
