VIAVI Solutions announced that InnoLight Technology, a leading vendor of high-speed optical transponders, has used the ONT-600 400G test platform to accelerate development of InnoLight’s optical modules.

Both companies will be present at ECOC next week: VIAVI will showcase high-speed optical test solutions and InnoLight will have a live demo to show 400G QSFP-DD FR4 and 400G OSFP FR4 testing with the VIAVI ONT-600 400G.

InnoLight and VIAVI will continue to work closely on development of next-generation modules, with the ONT-600 supporting development of both hardware and software, as well as system verification. In preparation for ECOC, the two companies verified interoperability between 400G QSFP-DD and 400G OSFP modules based on FR4 optics. The VIAVI ONT was used to generate and analyze 400G Ethernet traffic and InnoLight provided an QSFP-DD module and an OSPF module.

Osa Mok, CMO, InnoLight
In the highly complex 400G product technologies, a reliable and versatile test platform is crucial to our success in developing our modules on time while assuring optimal performance. We are happy that VIAVI is the leader in this respect and that the VIAVI ONT 400G tester is a part of the test and verification core in our development process.

Tom Fawcett, VP and GM, Lab & Production, VIAVI Solution
As exploding bandwidth demand and network evolution drive 400G into the market, the critical impacts of FEC, PCS and PHY layer margin and interoperability will require deeper insight and multi-domain tools. VIAVI is ready to help the whole 400G ecosystem – from chips to systems – to move to prime time.
