Spirent Communications announced accelerated expansions of critical network automation capabilities for top North American mobile operators.

After successful initial rollouts of Spirent VisionWorks for unified service assurance, these operators are significantly expanding the deployments to automate more than 50 different operational, engineering and customer care functions. The deployments will deliver seven-times faster service activation, millions in cost savings and higher-quality, differentiated market offerings, claims Spirent.

Spirent said its VisionWorks offering helps operators address the need for automation in today’s physical and early-stage virtual networks with support for a wide range of use cases that deliver immediate value.

In the company’s expanded North American VisionWorks deployments, which are taking place in the United States and Mexico, it is bringing its latest service assurance capabilities to mobile emergency, VoLTE, data and messaging services. This includes automation of service activation, SLA performance monitoring, multi-tiered customer care issue resolution, call handling and more. The company’s VisionWorks Virtual Test Platforms are a key component of these deployments, supporting migration away from physical probes to flexible, software-based virtual test agents that make it cost-effective to proactively monitor services virtually anywhere in the network.
