Openet has partnered with VoltDB which offers high-velocity database technology to increase its agility, lower total cost of ownership and increase deployment capabilities involving big data and real-time services. The technology enhancement is key for its Network Function Virtualization (NFV) initiatives.
VoltDB’s in-memory database technology is ideally suited to address operators’ real-time and elastically scalable processing requirements, such as peak load management within virtualized environments, said Openet.
“Openet is constantly working to expand options for operators as they evolve their infrastructure to enable increased agility and lower total cost of ownership,” said Joe Hogan, CTO and Founder at Openet. “Adding support for VoltDB’s database technology expands our deployment options as virtualized environments become increasingly important to the world’s largest operators.”
“The mobile space may be the best example of how much the volume and velocity of big data has increased in recent years, prompting vendors to seek new ways to manage that data and, more importantly, to capitalize on it,” said Bruce Reading, VoltDB CEO. “Our work with Openet is making it possible for service providers to leverage any and all combinations of data consumption to make intelligent, automated decisions in real-time.”
