Deutsche Telekom and light expert TRILUX are cooperating in the area of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for networked lighting systems.

Digitalisation as well as mega trends such as connectivity and big data are rapidly changing the light market and are opening up completely new opportunities and business models that go far beyond the traditional lighting functions, said TRILUX

TRILUX considers itself one of the pioneers and driving forces behind this development and is offering networked intelligent lighting systems as well as innovative digital services.

Via the new cloud-based digital services “energy monitoring” and “light monitoring”, any and all performance data of luminaires can be read out without any complications via the TRILUX light management system LiveLink.

This allows not only for the monitoring of energy costs, but also for the optimisation of maintenance cycles. From the operational and consumption data, the system automatically identifies a need for service in advance and, if so desired, notifies the responsible employees or companies. This minimises maintenance efforts and costs.

Therefore, TRILUX SIMPLIFY YOUR LIGHT now also applies to the cloud: Deutsche Telekom has developed an intelligent plug-n-play solution that allows for a straightforward networking of TRILUX lighting with the cloud.

Beyond the straightforward installation, the joint customer focus comes together in one hotline that assists TRILUX customers with questions ranging from the Telekom hardware to the luminaires, free of charge, and all across Europe with service and support.

Mark Henrik Korner, CSO, TRILUX Group
Thanks to the joint cloud solution, we are taking the next step in the digital transformation of light: With the new services, we are providing our customers with comprehensive added value in the management, control and maintenance of their lighting system.

Bjorn Weidenmuller, Head of Sales & Distribution Key Accounts, Telecom
Our joint IoT project illustrates which opportunities the digitalisation offers to further develop existing business models. Here, TRILUX is opening up a new category of services that justify the investment in IoT and increase customer loyalty.
