Albanian telecom service provider, ALBtelecom will utilize Sicap’s Mobile Device Management Centre (DMC) to offer its subscribers automated handset configuration with a faster problem resolution from its customer care centers.

Based in Switzerland, Sicap Schweiz is a global mobile device management vendor that provides solutions such as IoT service enablement, device and SIM management, customer insights and engagement and mobile security.

Albania has fast mobile broadband growth. SIM penetration is similar to the average European level of 119%, for active users; yet only 38% of the users are working with the mobile broadband data services. Mobile broadband data adoption has grown by 67% from the previous year.

With an eye on future growth in the Albanian mobile market, ALBtelecom now offers consumers a full portfolio of services from voice and public Wi-Fi to advanced 4G/LTE and to IP television, with a quality level that recently earned the operator the highest score in an independent, national quality benchmark.

The large share of low-cost mobile devices presents a challenging and costly market for operators in Albania, despite the lucrative mobile revenue growth opportunity. The issue is that these low-cost devices find it more difficult to connect to a network and the device users are forced to frequently call the operators’ care centers for support.

Pandeli Mitre, Coordinator of Technology Group, AlBtelecom
Sicap’s automatic device configuration solution will play a central role in the customer experience that ALBtelecom wants to deliver to its subscribers. ”Sicap’s Device Management Centre will automatically detect and configure all the device models in the Albanian market.

Magnus Moller Petersen, EVP, Sales and Marketing, Sicap Schweiz AG
Our device management solution will offer ALBtelecom an improved service for its customers. Our partnership will benefit the oft-overlooked peninsula and our international expertise will benefit telecom firms and help mobile users in the long run.
