ZTE Ranked Top Vendor in IPTV Middleware, VOD and STB by MRG ABI Research

Multimedia Research Group (MRG) ranks ZTE in the number 1 spot for three major market segments: middleware, video-on-demand (VOD), and set-top boxes (STB), taking over from Ericsson's Mediaroom. MRG via its IPTV Global Market Leader Report, says that ZTE leads the VOD market with a 20.6 percent global market share, followed by former market leader Mediaroom with 16.7 percent.

ZTE which has a number of large IPTV operator customers including China Telecom, VNPT, Indonesia Telkom, Beltelecom, M-Tel in Bulgaria, Cincinnati Bell Telecom and France Telecoms in Mauritius, has also edged Mediarron in the middleware segment with 22.7 percent market share.  In the IPTV STB segment, ZTE holds close to 23 percent market share, edging another 27 vendors in this category. 

ZTE provides broadband video solutions, including IPTV, over the top (OTT), hybrid TV, multi-screen, content delivery network (CDN), caching, and value-added services.  ZTE says that it has successfully launched 48 commercial IPTV projects with 17.3 million subscribers and capacity for 26.5 million in 2013.
