Mobile Telesystems (MTS), a leading provider of telecommunication services in Russia has selected Mavenir Systems' Rich Communication Services (RCS) and WebRTC services to offer new multimedia services that has the potential to attract a large number of new users.
Mavenir’s RCS solution, based on its Rich Messaging Server (RMS), enables advanced multimedia services such as instant messaging, file transfer, voice calling and video conferencing through a single application installed on the phone.
“We are pleased to be working with a leading operator such as MTS to create innovative RCS services and to rapidly bring those services to the major markets of Moscow and St. Petersburg this year,” said Pardeep Kohli, President and CEO of Mavenir Systems.
"In the first stage, we plan to sell RCS services for 10-20 Rubles per month. We will try to attract customers by offering them a universal communication tool with a guaranteed quality," said Maksim Marasanov, Director of Products and Services Development Department, MTS. "We are aware that the RCS will affect the income from SMS and our task is to replace these losses and increase revenues, which we expect that this will be done within two years of service launch."
