Mavenir Systems , a leading provider of software-based networking solutions, anounces that it had deployed its Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) solution in two western European mobile networks,  owned by a top 5 global network operator. Mavenir is partnering with Ulticom, an industry leader in Diameter Signaling solutions, to develop and integrate Diameter Routing capabilities as part of its complete virtualized portfolio. DRA is ideally suited for virtualized environments, consistent with the Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) strategy Mavenir is already implementing.

“For mobile operators that are transforming their networks to 4G LTE, the next step is LTE Roaming,” said Pardeep Kohli, president and chief executive officer, Mavenir Systems. “Together with our recently announced Evolved Packet Core (EPC), we see Diameter Routing as a key part of our end-to-end mobile core network portfolio and critical to participate in the next phase of network deployment to various customers around the world.”

“Ulticom’s value proposition is focused on mobile network operators who manage multiple operating networks as we bring both Diameter signaling expertise and operational flexibility,” said Bruce Swail, CEO, Ulticom. “Our software-based DSC is an ideal solution for Diameter traffic management and Roaming in LTE networks.”
