CDNetworks is chosen to be part of Ericsson’s Media Delivery Network (MDN), providing caching, optimization, and acceleration for global content delivery on Ericsson operator networks. As a premier integration partner, CDNetworks is one of three CDNs chosen as part of Ericsson’s plug-in ecosystem launch.

According to CDNetworks, it has 140 points of presence (PoPs) in 86 cities, including mainland China and Russia, enabling operators to reach emerging markets with the same level of service offered to local customers. Meanwhile, Ericsson has over 1,000 networks in more than 180 countries and CDNetworks will help them accelerate content delivery, including video, and potentially monetize the CDN service.

Ericsson is making huge strides in enabling their network operators to provide the best media delivery and mobile experience for consumers,” said John Kang, VP Business Development, CDNetworks. “We are excited to be a part of Ericsson’s MDN ecosystem, providing its customers with a truly global network.”

Ove Anebygd, Vice President and Head of Solution Area Media, Ericsson, said: “We have created these partnerships, and pre-integrated these connections to enable operators and content providers to forge even stronger links so that they can innovate and drive new revenue earning and high quality consumer video experiences.”
