Sydney, Australia-based NetComm Wireless announced that it is partnering with a subsidiary of AT&T to supply the Outdoor Wireless Antennas needed to bring Fixed Wireless Internet(FWA) connectivity to select rural and underserved premises in parts of 18 states in the U.S.

The FWA service provides broadband connection that delivers Internet download speeds of at least 10Mbps.

AT&T and NetComm Wireless have deployed their first wave of Fixed Wireless service in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina and Tennessee.

NetComm Wireless also won a $28 million deal as its first order from Australia's NBN for four-point distribution point units (DPUs) early this year. The DPUs units connect optical fibre to an existing copper phone line for the final connection to a home.
