HKT, the largest telecommunications services provider in Hong Kong which offers quad-play services, is rolling out the country's first IP-RAN based LTE-A 600Mbps network, offering the fastest mobile network specification in Hong Kong and continuing to lead the evolution of the LTE-A standard.

HKT launches its LTE-A 600Mbps network using the new technology of 256QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) plus the strength of three Component Carrier (3CC) inter-site LTE-A Carrier Aggregation (CA) across three 20MHz spectrum blocks, with a peak download speed of 600Mbps which is 14 times of the 3G network.

This will bring ultimate Internet experience to mobile users with the use of a compatible device, enabling faster downloads, enhanced video streaming and gaming, said the Operator.

As one of the global industry's mobile broadband pioneers, HKT said it commercially launched Hong Kong's first LTE-A 300Mbps network in 2014, and Hong Kong's first IP-RAN based LTE-A 450Mbps network in 2016.
