Vietnam's largest mobile operator with over 63million mobile customers, Viettel officially launched its 4G services on Tuesday across the country.

The Operator has deployed 36,000 4G Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) nationwide that can cover 95 per cent of the country’s population.

The country’s third largest mobile operator VinaPhone launched 4G services in Phu Quoc Island last year November, making it the first to offer 4G service in the country.

“We want to bring 4G to all Vietnamese people across the country, even in the most remote areas,” said Hoang Son, deputy general director of Viettel Group.

In its effort to offer digital services, Viettel has partnered with Fortumo to be the first to launch Google Play carrier billing in Vietnam last year, enabling its subscribers to purchase apps, music and books from Google Play by charging the purchases to their phone bill.
