TV Streaming Platform Roku Signs Multi-Year IP License Deal with TiVo

Roku, a leading TV streaming platform, has signed a multiyear intellectual-property license agreement with TiVo, granting Roku access to thousands of patents portfolios as well as the over-the-top (OTT) assets.

Additionally, the agreement includes an option for Roku to access TiVo’s high-quality entertainment metadata and other TiVo products to further power intuitive search and navigation.

TiVo said its investment in research and development has enabled it to generate one of the world’s leading media and entertainment patent portfolios. The company’s commitment to innovation enables the delivery of products that touch practically every aspect of consumers’ day-to-day interaction with their entertainment, and helps licensees build customized next-generation digital entertainment solutions for users around the globe.
